Woo started off by dabbling in tattoos when he was just 13 or 14 years old. He and his friend would experiment with “stick-and-poking” their legs after school. “I think that the idea of doing something so permanent without thinking about its future consequence gave us a rush,” he said. He later worked as a fashion buyer and designer before getting a job as an apprentice to Mr. Mark Mahoney at LA’s Shamrock Social Club, Hollywood’s tattoo studio where the elite and the underground meet. He’s now one of Shamrock’s most popular tattoo artists.
One of Dr. Woo’s favorite tattoos is the one that helped propel him to fame. “A wolf made up of my constellations – the first time I used my signature circles and lines to create an image,” he states (see immediately below).
